Robin Nagle teaches anthropology and urban studies at New York University. She is director of the Draper Program, an interdisciplinary master’s program within NYU’s Graduate School of Arts and Science. Her book Picking Up will be published by Farrar, Straus & Giroux.

When I was the archivist at Springfield College, I helped a New York law firm access the physiology research that supported the New York sanitation workers back in the 1950s.
