Eric Friedman is the Vice President of Academic Affairs at Hudson County Community College and he teaches sociology at Drew University. He recently completed a three-year ethnographic study of Journal Square, the urban heart of Jersey City, New Jersey. As a civic entrepreneur, he works with public associations and non-profits to effect positive social change. His new course, Sociological Studies of Trash, invites students to consider both the history of ideas and current environmental challenges.
Eric,
I wasn’t sure how else to contact you or the other two authors–I am proposing a panel on Environments of Waste for the 2012 SLSA conference and thought one of you may be interested or know someone who may be. I can forward on the proposal if interested.
Thank you all for the great posts!
Best,
Jenn
